    1. Introduction

    This report presents the results of site visit of the reconstruction of Shree Prajawasti Primary School, Bardada, Makaising-03, Gorkha, from 07 April, 2017 to 10 April, 2017 with project coordinator, project engineer, social mobiliser(volunteer). The purpose of the visit assures the project is being built in general conformance with the contract documents and according to the design concept.

    2. Objectives

    1. To know about the status of the ongoing construction works in the site.
    2. To monitor the painting works being done at the school.
    3. To show the project location and status to a possible team member Marielle deMeulemeester.
    4. To discuss about the water supply project to the school location with the DivisionEngineer of District Water Supply & Sanitation (DWSS) office, Gorkha.

    3. Works Performed

    The visit to the school was done on 08 April, 2017. The works completed were as per the design concept and the painting work was being done by a local painter from around the village. Red brick color was applied on the brick walls, on both inner and outer walls and chocolate color was applied on the metal components including doors and windows. The color of the plywood was left as it was i.e. dark brown.

    Marielle de Meulemeester, a Dutch woman, was welcomed to the school location on 08 April, 2017. The background and status of the project was briefed to her as per her request. She was informed about the prevailing conditions of the Chepang community as well. She left with a promise to stay in touch with us and help us in any way possible as soon as she could.

    A meeting with the Division Engineer of District Water Supply & Sanitation (DWSS) office, Gorkha was conducted on 09 April, 2017 with the objective to bring safe drinking water to the school location. He was briefed about the project details and status. It was found that another organization was granted permission for the water supply project to the school vicinity. As per the government regulations, he assured us that the organization assigned for the water supply project in that community has to compulsorily install a drinking water tap inside the school. The meeting was concluded with this decision.
