Who we are

KARUNAMAYA FOUNDATION NEPAL

Karunamaya Foundation Nepal is a non-political, non-sectarian, non-governmental, non-profit-making and humanitarian organization that believes that children and youth are the wealth of a nation. It is our mission to encourage them to dream and help towards realizing the unlimited possibilities of life.

As the name “Karunamaya” suggests we extend our compassion and love to the children and youth . The ultimate aim is to help in developing them as independent and capable citizens who will  contribute in the socio-economic development of the nation.  Starting at an early stage, the focus is in providing a good education at public school which in most cases require a great deal of uplifting of its infrastructure besides many other supportive capacity buildings.  In most public schools the requirement is the same only the magnitude of the problem varies. 

Every child may not be able to excel academically however exploring their capability in sports, music and other areas is another aspect that is of interest to us.

 We have taken over this foundation after the earthquake of the 25th April 2015, from the fiscal year which starts on the 17th July 2015 in Nepal.

Mission

Is to serve “To Radiate Happiness and Give Light where there is Darkness”.The words of Nelson Mandela “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” reflects our motto.

 Aim

A selfless involvement with a feeling to touch the heart by providing services, “With a Difference to make a Difference”.

What We Do

We support children and youths, with love and kindness, as our name suggests, in becoming independent and capable youths contributing towards the socio-economic development of the nation and the world by improving their access to formal and/or vocational education and personal development. In the process, we hope to provide critical infrastructure through construction of schools in remote villages, capacity building of school management by providing them additional academic resources as well as providing essential training to school management and teachers.

We understand that not every child can excel academically while they might have a talent in other areas such as music, sports, etc.

We find it extremely important

Possibilities in life are not merely limited by the ability of a child to excel academically, though minimum levels of education need to be ensured.
